Zenkai is a hidden mechanic that grants you Special Power Gains after healing from the brink of death. The amount of power gained varies from 8% to 16% depending on your current Base Power, and as it gives you Special Power Gains it is very useful.
Triggering a Zenkai Boost works as follows:
- Bring a Magic Bean into a boss fight, and only use it when your health is below the critical stamina threshold (the orange part of the stamina bar).
- Make sure the boss's maximum power (their Base Power + Power Up) is at least 10% higher than your maximum power (your Base Power + power up). Powering down does not work.
You can perform up to 3 Zenkais per Meditation. After each Zenkai, you need to train until your Base Power reaches 1.5 times your previous Base Power. For example, if your Base Power was 200 before the Zenkai, you would need to reach 300 (200 × 1.5) before performing another Zenkai.
Example of doing 3 Zenkai's in a Meditation:
First Zenkai:
1) Make sure the boss' max PL is 10% higher than your max power (Power Up included).
2) Get below 25% HP (The orange part of the stamina bar)
3) Use a Magic Bean
Second and Third Zenkai:
1) Check your previous Zenkai Base Power (in Inventory > Scrolls > Stats) and ensure your current Base Power is at least 1.5 times that value (Previous Zenkai Power × 1.5).
2) Follow the same triggering process as for the first Zenkai.
Zenkai Boost Calculation:
The power boost from each Zenkai depends on your Base Power Record. A Zenkai grants a 16% boost if performed at or above 70% of your Base Power Record. To maximize Zenkai benefits, it’s best to perform the second and third Zenkai after reaching 70% of your previous power record and using the first or even the second close to the end of a power step.
